Asam Jamu Kunyit Sirih Recipe


Handful of turmeric
Handful of Bentong Ginger
Handful of “Temukunci”
Handful of cekur/kencur
3 slices of daun sirih/ sirih leaves
3 slice of “mengkudu” leaves
1 litre of water

Flavour according to own preferences:
Asam jawa (more) prefer no seeds
Gula melaka (little)
Salt (little)



  1. Wash all ingredients
  2. cut into small size, slice small
  3. Put ingredients into blender with 1 litre of water
  4. Sieve it
  5. Pour sieved liquid and cook with asam jawa, gula melaka, salt

When it cools down, transfer into glass bottle (use glass because turmeric will stain your plastics)

Kept in fridge

Consume 1 teaspoon of turmeric twice in a week

1 teaspoon of turmeric contains 200 milligrams of curcumin

(Warning: too much of turmeric can cause dizziness for some people)
