Dosa Recipe or Thosai Recipe


  • 1 cup of wash moong dhal ( or any dhal) – soak at least 3 hours – 4 hours
  • 1/4 inch ginger (chopped)
  • 1 green chilli (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • enough water to blend
  • ghee/butter to fried


  1. Blend dhal with salt, water mix and green chilli
  2. Pour into a bowl
  3. Then mix in cumin and salt
  4. Melt 1tbsp of butter into wok, make sure it’s hot
  5. Pour 1 cup or lesser of batter and using a ladle, smooth the batter from inner to outer in a circular motion
